CCIP???

Posted by Aragoen Celtdra on 25th May 2011

I’m starting to contemplate taking the CCIP track. I’ve been having a lot of fun with MPLS and BGP lately that I have  this compelling urge to go all the way with the IP track. The only thing that really holds me back is QoS. LOL! For some weird reason, QoS can’t seem to sit well with me. I don’t think it’s way more complicated than either MPLS or BGP, in terms of understanding the concepts. It’s just that it doesn’t seem to arouse interest in me. But then again, frame relay used to suck for me, but now we’re coo. ;-)

So CCIP or not? If I do, it would push back my goal of getting the CCIE R&S. On the upside, I’ll probably know BGP well enough to get it out of the way in my CCIE studies. MPLS doesn’t go much in depth in CCIE R&S but taking the CCIP MPLS exam should give me that much more command of the technology.

We shall see where it leads me. For now, to more MPLS fun…
