Tweetdeck: Why My Twitter Client of Choice

Posted by Aragoen Celtdra on May 29th, 2009

I compared all different Twitter desktop clients over several months -Twhirl, Tweetdeck, Twitterlicious, etc. Out of all that, I seem to prefer Tweetdeck the most.

The single most defining feature that made me choose Tweetdeck is its ability to group different categories in separate columns.

For example, the first few columns group the standard default categories  (i.e. All Friends I’m following, Replies from friends, and Direct Messages). Then I can break down several categores in subsequent columns grouped under a certain keyword search or interest “groups”. This way it allows me to track different going ons in the Twitter world. It’s not as pretty as Twhirl, but it does the job for me the way I want it. It keeps me busy with unproductive work.

When I want to look productive, I use Spreadtweet2003:

@Nicolas: Hahaha. You wouldn’t want me to reveal the top secret direct messages you send me for everyone to see, would you? Plus it makes it more intriguing when people have to wonder what others could be saying to me that they have to message me directly. LOL

@Jo: LOL. I see you’re a fan as well. :D I didn’t think anyone would notice or know who he is. I almost used Air Supply as an example… ahahaha… but them being even a less known group, I’m sure the humor would have been lost in their obscurity… Good catch though. :D

@Rakesh: Hey Buddy! Studies are fine. I’m just making it a point to read at least a page or two a day with all the things going on with me. Are you taking your CCIE lab anytime soon?
