Passed BSCI (642-901) Exam
Posted by Aragoen Celtdra on March 14th, 2009
Two or three of my faithful followers might be wondering where I was this past few days.
Well now you know the reason for the lack of updates – been studying hard.
I am so relieved that this one is out of the way – for now. It’s been nine months since I started studying for this exam and I’m glad I passed on my first attempt. Reading from various forums about the horrors and difficulties others have had passing for the first time, I was a bit wary and at the same time confident that I was going to pass. And I did!
I’ll be celebrating tonight with the family and go out on a rare dinner at a restaurant. I’ll write up my thoughts later for those of you wondering about the test, especially those gearing up to take it soon. Laters!

Way to go! You got the hardest one out of the way. The rest keep getting progressively easier after this. Keep on truckin!

Way to go bro! I’m really glad you passed. Your posts and blogs are a goldmine of information for the BSCI…and you definitely put in the time. You earned it!
I hope you enjoyed dinner with the family!

Grats on passing. Now that you have passed would you have done anything different going into the exam?
March 17th, 2009 at 11:59 am
nice work man! It was obvious from the amount of effort you’ve been putting on your blog that you’ll nail it.
keep rollin’

Thanks everyone! It feels great to know that there is a solid community out there that helps push and motivate each other to do well in this industry.
@Jeff: Yeah, the idea was to get the hard part out of the way. Hopefully within a few months I can hammer out BCMSN
@Joey: Thanks bro! How’s the sonicwall gig going? And what happened to your blog?
@David: Thanks David! I’ll be doing BCMSN next. Are you still on ISCW?
@Suffah: Thanks for the shout out on your blog.
Also, I did enjoy the dinner with my family. I even had left over for lunch at work.
@Nwachonky: Hey bro! Have you finally found a job in the tech field? I’m hoping so. If not, just keep working at acquiring knowledge as much as you can. You probably finished the QoS exam by now, right?
@Newton: A congratulations is in order for you as well for passing the BSCI yesterday. Let’s go know out BCMSN next!
@Kpjungle: I’m glad you took my advice
and consider going for the CCIE.
@ITdaddy: Dude! What can I say, you always crack me up! You’re a good man. Always pumping everyone up. Like I’ve said before, I got your back!
@Eric: Thanks Eric. One thing I wish I’ve done though is to have taken the exam last October when I originally set out to do. So that set me off four months. But who knows, maybe I might’ve failed it twice if I’d taken it back then.
@Shadowman: Thanks Wassim! Time for me to catch to you on BCMSN…

Congrats on nailing the BSCI! Great passing score aswell. It is a tough one for sure. Next to the CCNA I found the BSCI to be not as tough but only behind by a hair. You should roll pretty well into the others after having done that bad boy. Congrats again and keep up the effort dude.

@Mike: Thanks bro! When are you gonna bring your blog back? Are you still on the Cisco path?
@RouteLeaker: Thanks Roy! See you in the twit world

Yes I am still on the Cisco path but have given up on the blog. For me there is just not enough time to be pasting it all out there. Plus who would come to my page when there is competition like you? Hehe. I have completed BSCI, BCMSN and ISCW. Im heading back to Australia (I am an Aussie) in about a week with my wife and new born boy. We have been living in the states for about 3 years now but are moving back for my boy to be with family and friends. I really wanted to have ONT nailed before I head back but it doesn’t look like its going to happen. It’s taken me about a year of hardcore working/studying to get those three complete and im very happy with my progress so not letting it get me down. I will complete it before job hunting back in Australia though, it will make a huge difference. Its also handy because when I do get home im not going to start working straight away. I will get a chance to relax and complete this last exam. R&R is way overdue!
